The joys of a larger belly. SO Far I have gone through THREE Basq Body Butter and on my SECOND Resilient Body Oil. I also got a free Body Polish when I purchased the Basq products from Pea in the Pod. Um that place is expensive. I think I will try seeing about getting the products on EBAY.

this stuff smells so good and feels so good. I tried the Palmer's Lotion and I hated the way it smelled.

Sorry it's been awhile....this is a quick post. I had some ideas but it was so busy at the STORE today. Hey I'm not complaining. So I wish I could blog more about dressing my new body....I wear my nice vintage stuff at work and when I'm at home I have been wearing sweats from Target. I am still able to wear my size....well for now at least.

This month is NATIONAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

I lost my Tia in September due to Breast Cancer.

She was a fighter all the way. She also suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis from when she was a teen. She never let it slow her down. She worked as a teacher and retired...and even though she may have been in pain she worked. She also was a loving and giving Mother.

She said I was going to have a boy....she was right

maybe I have been unmotivated or tried or lazy....but just don't feel like blogging...I mean I started in 2006..I think... but only blog a few times out of the year. Well the store has been busy so it has been hard to take pictures of my outfit and even some of the stuff I have made. On another note....Leos rule! Birthday wishes to all my fellow LEOS.

I had that necklaces at the store and it finally sold....to a fellow lioness!

I went to South Lake Tahoe to celebrate our birthday....my ol'man and I have the same birthday...fire!!

New simple jewelry- Our store has been soo busy with an estate we are sorting out. So many good finds we are even going to be selling online! I haven't had time to make stuff but I am finding that I want to make better stuff and better charms. It's not like I price my jewelry super high but I just need a change and inspiration.

RIP Lady

One thing that has made me not post is the lost of my loyal sweet dog. I got her in 1997 and she was by my side for 14 years. A couple years ago she slipped and fell on her hip...the doctor said it might be bone cancer. He also told me his dogs had it and you can give them the treatment but with bone cancer there is no recovery. So she seemed OK, but once she feel she always limped...she never used that back leg. Then I noticed her getting very thin and just in pain. She could not walk around, she just had to lay on the sofa. She was whining so much it was so hard I could not do anything to help. I made the choice to finally take her to the vet. God the worst thing but the best thing. I wish she could have passed away like in her sleep outside in the sun, she deserved it. I feel empty, I miss her so much. I know it's just a dog but there is something special when you do bond with an dog or cat. I loved her breath and I loved the way she smelled. She was my best friend. I was blessed to have such a wonderful wonderful dog

Busy busy at the store. I only have a few pictures of jewelry I made. First I am so happy the store is doing so good. Way better then last year! Wish I took pictures of my outfits but the store was slammed and it was raining outside. Oh I can't wait to make new items for next year! So many ideas.

I was farting around with these bullet shells and vintage found feathers. The lace gave it a feminine touch.

This weekend I stopped by Krazy Mary's on Folsom Blvd to visit Jen of jenjems. She makes wonderful earthy boho style jewelry. She uses sterling silver, copper, leather and precious stones. She takes her time on all pieces of jewelry, and has wonderful craftsmanship. She sells at Krazy Mary's and on etsy.

This is my Grandpa and My GRANDMA. They are both from NEW MEXICO. She always talks about New Mexico and how much she loves it. She is half Japanese and Spanish. She is 91 years old and I miss her and her stories.

Friday I wore LEVIS

I have had this 70's yellow gingham blouse for about 2 years and now I was like I should wear that. The shorts are also Levis, yeah I cut them.

Nicole and I traded. She wanted the Southwest ring and I wanted these.

I really like how these have been distressed. I hope I don't wear these too much, but right now these are my favorite shoes at the moment besides the clogs!

I was getting ready for fall and was shopping on eBay. I found this cute 70's bib dress with balloon 3/4 sleeves. It's made by Fritzi. It is faded but that's what I like about it, I was the only one that bid on it to! I payed about 12 dollars including the shipping cost.

MORE CLOG HEELS. This is the perfect heel. Another score on eBay. DEADSTOCK in the box leather maroon clogs made in SWEDEN. You might see my partner Nicole wearing the same ones in her blog soon.I told her about these and they are her size and she won a pair as well. They don't really fit me but I can make it work.

lovely jewelry, the horn necklace is made by Nicole, oh I it's one of my favorites right now. I added a wolf tooth to the necklace. The pinkie ring I found thrifting, I was going to sell but I love it too much. The bird Cameo ring is one of mine that I made.

So when I feel bad, I shop. Recently I was looking at stuff on ebay. I came across this cute little number. I was thinking I can wear this all year round. I adore jeans and I like that this has already been shortened. It's a bit too short, but I made it work with some cute bloomers that Nicole brought in. I also traded Nicole for this wonderful blue stone with vintage coral cab necklace. The Bear necklace is something I made.

I found this fabric at a thrift store, then I printed this on the fabric. My plan the whole time was to make a purse. IT took like 3 years! And it only took my 20 minutes to finish it and make a handle of ribbon, which I thrifted and braided. Talk about lazy. Behind this purse is a floral 90's tote that I printed unicorns on.

So I finished another dress. It's a 70's apron wrap dress. Reminds me of a Lolita, rockabilly style....polka-dots and white lace. I mixed Nicole's jewelry with my Bakelite buckle umbrella necklace.

I still have a hard time parting with my Catholic knick knacks. I have holy cards, Jesus and Mary wall hangings, and charms. I have made some jewelry in the past but it's still so hard to give them up.

Cute Purple Boho dress from the SBCA thrift store only 6 bucks. LION HEAD belt from Sweden, a gift from the ol'man. Ring made by Nicole. Shoes as seen in pervious outfits. I was glad I finally got to wear my lion belt, he gave it to me in December. This outfit is 100% thrifted, even the belt. He said he got at a second hand type store. Oh you can't see it but my bra was thrifted as well.

When I was 16 I went to a thrift store and I became a thriftier. I fell in love with clogs around that time. However as I got older....I changed my style....NOW I have come full circle again and I have come obsessed with clogs again. I love the clunky, chunky, ugly shoes. Here's my clogs, I need more. Even on flickr there are people that have clog fetishes....

These were a birthday gift from my lovely partner Nicole of Flaming Hag Folkwear SO amazing and I just adore them, they make lots of noise!!!!

I have one more pair that even Nicole got on eBay, they are a tad to big for me but I think if I wear socks they would look OK. They are deadstock, they have a wood heel and maroon colored leather!!!!

Wow I finally got off my butt and made this. I found this fabric in a ziplock bag, then to my suprise it was dress patteren, already cut and ready to be made. I have had this for two years. All the pieces were there, and there is even a matching handbag! I think this is a seventies pattern, it can be belted or loose. I added the eyelet trim on the bottom and the navy heart dollie. I don't know if I like it or not? The pattern says it's a size 6-8. I feel like I should make more clothes......

Those were 80's Fredricks of Hollywood knee highs that I thirfted still in the package. The back was a t-back but I don't have any pictures with the back.

After my post about Florals & tattoos I found this wonderful dress. The label is LEO. It totally fits and I just adore it. It was $2 dollars. I also wore my LEO ring, I just had too!

I just adore Vintage Levi's. I bought this Vintage LEVIS blouse on etsy, it's a bit small but I can make it work. The jeans are also LEVIS CAPITAL E line, they are high waisted but you can't tell.

These were in the back of the store and asked Nicole how much she wanted for them, but she said I could have them. OH and they fit and they are soo soft. I love the pockets. I usually dont wear light color jeans but these I will work with. I paired it up with a blouse I found thrifting. I also like heneley style blouses.

I have had this skirt for a couple years. I got it at this lovely Vintage store in Sacramento, that is no longer there...it's a Subway now. It's an orange label Levis. The length ok. I paired with a vintage thermal top from Nicole and the quilted jacket I got from the SPCA thrift store in Sacramento. The necklace is from Nicole's line Flaming Hag Folkwear, it's a locket.

so my mom finds things for me and she found all these wood hearts. I thought why don't I just make little pins with them. I used old buttons, the deer was a broken pin and the rhinstone eye came out, the Panda image is from a 60's match box I cut out. I plan on making more. oh so crafty!

Usually if a necklace or bracelet that has not sold I will remake it into something else. Most of the time it works. Here's a couple that I remade and are at the shop.

I also have one more needlepoint necklace left. This one is so great for spring. Made with recycled chain as well.

Here's another necklace remade in. I love this Lotus Cloisonne Pendent. I use to have it on a brass chain then I took it off that and decided to use a chopper chain to highlight the different colors in the pendent.

Last I always like the lace necklaces I have been seeing on etsy. It's such a great idea to reuse lace pieces that we may just throw away. This is my first one, I added this vintage found silver Virgin Mary pendent .This you can find online plus free shipping worldwide Porkchop Rules

Finally a wallet that caters to my needs. I found this wonderful vintage wallet, that had the section for credit cards, a slot for cash and a coin purse. However the coin part did not close all the way and they would always fall out. Searching online etsy, and ebay nothing what I needed. Finally going to one of my favorite thrift stores I spotted a Princess Gardner box and there it was a NEW deadstock they call a "French Purse"

Then as I was looking for sandles for the store I found these awesome shoes. I thought I wish they were my size and then I tried them on, OH YES these are MINE!

jeans are Levis they dont fit very well but they will have to do for now. Shoes were also from my partner, they are vintage Payless Shoe source brand called Costers.

Wed. at Crimson and Clover. I bought these boots from my Partner Nicole. The skirt I got on etsy. I love Vintage Levis, this is a 70s wrap skirt however it's too big, I have made some changes but it's still too big so I need to alter it again. The top is a vintage 80's Casual Corner.My necklace is a heart shaped digital watch necklace. Today was good at the store I added some more lighting to the front.

Thurs. at Crimson & Clover. I needed to wear jeans, it was cold today.

I thought about suspenders and wearing them, thinking they would look cute with a pair of vintage Levis that I own. These jeans are Levis but they are the Capital E Levis, I got these on ebay. The suspenders are LEVIS also purchased from Nicole. The henely is from Target.

I added a button on the suspenders, I didn't want to add to many didn't want to look like MORk. The pin is from Russia. The shoes are like winos, but they have more of a sole and have a round toe.

Fri. oh what a lazy day. Feeling the effects from Aunt Flow. The black dress I got from another vintage shop in Sacramento a couple years ago. The grandpa cardigin is from the thrift store and it had many stains, I forgot and wore it to work. I usually would not do that. I wore my new boots again. I like added a couple of necklaces together. I paired up a vintage necklace, the gold bottle one with one from my grandma, she made it just for me. The wood bird pin I got when I use to work at an Antique store.

I searched and thought man I really like clog heels. I found some on ebay....kind of out of my price range,of course ETSY. Either not my size or way to much money. Vintage of course! ALAS the search was over, came to work at Atelier and they were up on our self...I thought please let them fit.....YES! I just have to get pads on the heels. I will be wearing these all the time!

I am part owner of a vintage and handmade store called ATELIER. I have posted stuff up before about the store but now I am really part of the store! The owners are Melissa and Amy(they are sisters), Nicole of Flaming Hag Folkwear, and myself.
So far the changes and energy have been very postive. The store looks great, I have been moving things around like crazy. We all create handmade, upcycled items.

The main reason I opened this store, cause I love NICK KNACKS. I started thrifting and going to antique stores when I 16. I think I have a good eye for good quality items and some cute kitchy items as well, i.e OWLS & UNICORNS.
Right now I have a thing for strawberries, unicorns, tins and owls. The store's name stems from my PORKCHOP RULES line, you know PORKCHOPs, HOT DOGS.
I am trying to list new items everyday, I have more to come.

So if I did collect OWLs these would be part of my collection. I try to find different owl stuff that I would want. I have made some jewelry using vintage and new charms "UPCYCLED". I have even made a baby design on some little tshirts. I spraypainted some figurines, I thought at first no one would buy them. I just had the chance to be on MTV.....I think it is a great chance show off my stuff. However, I really do not want to see how I look on televison...plus you know MTV repeats things all the time!!

The show is called Made and it's about a gal who wants to be a model. It was nice to put her in my stuff. I put her in the pantsuit in the above photo. The girl looked soo cute, she said she never wore vintage before.

The girl in the photo is MEL, I showed her the pantsuit and she had to have it.

I think it will air in September

I am new to blogging so I am giving it a try. I am a DIY, I have a business called PORKCHOP RUles-it is one of a kind silk-screened clothes,jewelry and artwork. I wanted to document the ups and downs of a DIYers.

JUst about me:

I have always wanted my own business. I started making handbags out of Mexican oil cloth in college and did sell them to a couple stores.

Finished school from LONG BEACH STATE, moved, tattooed a bit. That was my first passion, but that's behind me.

I wanted to silkscreen and create again....so I did with help from my wonderful parents.
